Thirty years ago, I started teaching in Madera Unified, a school district that was known as a great place to teach. I have enjoyed the years, although as with any job there have been ups and downs.

In all the experiences of life, there does not seem to be anything that makes a person feel more alive and complete than giving, be it giving of time, emotional support or possessions.
I would like to set the record straight on David Linn’s statement (Madera Tribune, Saturday, March 23) that the Board of Supervisors, judges and law enforcement support him.

We are writing to express concern over mental health and smoking. Although the rates of smoking have declined, smoking among those with mental illness has increased.
