A few weeks ago my brother, Rod Colman, was involved in a car accident in Madera. Rod had recently moved to Madera and had no family or friends close by.
This last July 21, on my 83rd birthday, I remembered four good friends that had a birthday also on that day and they were Mel Parker, Carl Franco, Danny Chavira and Marvin Lyons.
A few weeks ago, I was coming out of a store in Fresno. This old guy was looking at a new Harley parked in the lot.
I asked, “You going to buy one?”
He said, “No, but it sure is pretty.”
It is amazing that the very congressmen and congresswomen, who voted for Obamacare just excluded themselves from that health program.
We wish to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Sheryl Berry and the Madera Historical Society for selecting us as the 2013 Old Timer’s Day King and Queen. We are extremely honored.
In his Aug. 5 column, Chuck Doud writes about the prisoners and their hunger strikes. He felt that murderers and rapists get what they deserve in prison — good riddance, whatever that means.
