Mr. Emo, as always, did himself proud on the feature article about Oatman, Ariz. Having been there recently, I appreciated how he really made it all come alive again for me.
I read and reread Jim Glynn’s column that appeared on Jan. 5. I hope I am not the only one to write of this. His topic of the 2nd Bill of Rights is socialist at least.
On the front page of the Madera Tribune, dated Dec. 28, a headline reads, “Locals petition for environment, economic growth.” What an oxymoronic statement!
Re: The proposed high-speed passenger train service between Fresno and Merced: First I want to say that it’s an excellent idea whose time has come, and I support it 200 percent.
It seems to me that the “E” words “Education” and “Enterprise” have been “eroded” in recent years and replaced by a pursuit of “Entertainment.” The spirit of “Sacrifice” has been replaced by “Satisfaction.”
