The movie “McFarland U.S.A.” will be coming out soon. The joy of this movie is it could be a story about any high school that had a cross-country program in our San Joaquin Valley.
Letters to the editor
Letters to the editor from readers of The Madera Tribune newspaper.
The cost of the new shelter, Ms. Labrucherie, was published in The Madera Tribune and were their figures, not mine. I just divided $20 million by 20,000 square feet.
First of all I want to thank you for the wonderful coverage in your paper about the scholarship luncheon for the Camarena Health Center. However I must correct an error made.
I am compelled to respond to Bill Hoffrage’s letter to the editor on April 9 regarding the proposed cost of a new animal shelter:
I just had to thank Careen Wong for her article last week on the animal shelter and your editorial as well.
The death last Aug. 13 of Mark Brady reminded me of a day about three months before then when I ran into him at the Little League ball park, where he was watching a game, as I was.
Could someone check the numbers on the planned new building for the animal shelter? Paper reported $20 million for a 22,000-square-foot building. That’s 1,000 bucks per square foot!
