The first weekend of the month means it is Madera yard sale weekend. If we are lucky this time next month the drought will have broken and El Nino will have blessed us with an enormous rainstorm.
It’s Labor Day weekend, the last holiday of summer. Be careful on the highway and if you drink, please don’t drive. The police and the Highway Patrol will be out in force.

School is back in session even if the autumn equinox is still more than a month away. My opinion doesn’t matter but I still think school is supposed to start in September and end in June.
Why are some so anxious to be victims? Is it because it is easier to be a victim than it is to take responsibility for one’s own failings?
The year is half over. There is only one summer holiday left and then it will be fall my favorite time of the year. These triple digit days are miserable.
