Friday was the 108th anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Madera.
In spite of the high temperatures, Friday was the first day of spring. The weathermen are calling for a slight chance of rain on Monday. Plan a picnic or wash your car.
Remember the anticipation leading up to getting your first driver’s license. As my 16th birthday approached the possibility of a driver’s license meant independence and less adult supervision.
Last week’s column asked for the community’s support for The Madera Tribune. I neglected to tell you that Saturday was a big anniversary of this publication.
Madera is my community, our hometown. Together we make Madera a community, not just a wide spot on the map.
