I had lunch at DiCicco’s with my Pretty Girls on Wednesday. As I drove out of the Bethard Square shopping center, it made my heart hurt to see the former Mayfair Market in such disrepair.

I got my ballot in the mail this week. I am on permanent Vote by Mail status. There is still time to register to vote at the Madera County Clerk’s Office for this election.
This one is going to get me in the doghouse with some of my friends, but I have to weigh in on the presidential election.
Thursday morning both sides were taking bows for a successful debate.
Today at 10 a.m. on Yosemite Avenue is Madera’s Old Timers Day parade. Come out to see the bands, horses, floats and help our town celebrate its roots.
I’ll be the first one to admit I watch way too much television. If I’m home, the television is on. If the government is using our TVs to watch us, they have my every move recorded. Does that sound paranoid?
It is with great sorrow that The Madera Tribune family bids farewell to one of our best employees, copy editor Ashley Lowe. In a small paper like ours, one job description per employee is never enough.
Once again, it’s time for the Madera District Fair.
