Today is the very last day of summer, hooray! Autumn starts tomorrow at 1:44 p.m. Tonight St. Joachim’s School hosts it annual Harvest Festival on the grounds of the school.
The ’13 Madera District Fair has now passed into the history books. A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the fair and hope many of you accepted the invitation to attend.
People who are superstitious about numbers may believe today, Sept. 7 has a lucky connection. More people tend to be scared of the number 13 and especially when it falls on a Friday.
The first weekend of September is set aside to honor the American worker with a federal holiday. Enjoy the final summer blowout but use common sense and designate a sober driver.
